Ghost Ensemble and Academy will present an early evening of experimental music in the open air of gorgeous Inwood Hill Park for MakeMusicNY on Friday, June 21. Academy will perform at 5:00 and Ghost Ensemble will perform at 6:30. The performance is free of charge and the audience is invited to participate throughout.
The event will take place on the northern end of the park near the place known as Shorakkopoch.
On Google Maps, this area is labeled “Native American Caves”. To find the location, use the park entrance at the corner of Isham St. and Seaman Ave., near the 207 St. stop on the A train. Enter facing west from Isham St. and continue straight, passing the flags. Follow that path as it curves to the right, west of the baseball diamonds (do not bear left uphill). You will see a large field in front of you, with the Harlem river and a big bridge behind it. Bear left, staying south of the field. After walking west with the large field on your right, you’ll run into a boulder in the path, labelled “Shorakkopoch”. Take a left after the boulder. Now keep an eye and an ear out for a small path on your right. Here are the caves!
